Baking for more than 90 years in the Italian Market

A PHILLY Destination

Over the years, Sarcone’s has become a staple in South Philadelphia, not only for its bread but also for its integrity. This is a fact that we understand, appreciate and take very seriously. Our pledge is to continue to retain this standard and to continue to raise the bar even higher in the future.

The Family

The rich history of Sarcone’s Bakery began in the year 1918 when an Italian immigrant by the name of Luigi Sarcone opened up shop at 758 South Ninth Street, Philadelphia. Ever since then, it has been all about the bread.

LOUIS SARCONE

3RD GENERATION

Louis started working in the bakery as a young boy, and later went to Villanova on a football scholarship.

LOUIS Sarcone jr.

4TH GENERATION

I started working at Sarcone's seven days a week immediately after high school, and now I am the owner of the bakery. At one time, I actually worked with my great grandparents, the founders of the bakery. The quality time I spent with my father, baking in the early hours of the morning, is one of my favorite memories.

5TH GENERATION

I am the youngest of the Sarcone family bakers. Recently, I have been embracing the challenge of improving the bakery while maintaining the traditions that make us great.
